Xtrm enhances security with Cyphlens: A smarter MFA solution

In the digital landscape today, securing online accounts is more critical than ever. Recognizing this, Xtrm has partnered with Cyphlens to introduce a cutting-edge Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) method that enhances user security while simplifying the login experience.

The evolution of MFA at Xtrm

Traditionally, Xtrm employed One-Time Passcodes (OTPs) sent via email or text message for MFA during logins and sensitive transactions like bank transfers. While effective, this method sometimes faced challenges such as delayed OTP delivery, especially when relying on email providers. To address these concerns and elevate security standards, Xtrm now offers Cyphlens as the preferred MFA solution.

Introducing Cyphlens: A seamless authentication experience

Cyphlens revolutionizes the authentication process by enabling mutual, two-way verification between users and the Xtrm platform. This innovative approach ensures that both parties confirm each other's identity, significantly reducing the risk of phishing attacks and unauthorized access.

How Cyphlens Works:

User Initiates Login: Enter your username on the Xtrm login page.
Encrypted 2FA Image Generation: Xtrm generates an encrypted Cyphlens image unique to your session.
Decryption via Mobile Device: Using the Cyphlens app on your mobile device, scan the encrypted image. The app decrypts it, allowing you to verify the authentication request.
Complete Login: After verification, proceed by entering your password to access your account securely.

This "point-to-decrypt" method leverages your mobile device's camera, transforming it into a powerful decryption tool that offers a frictionless and secure user experience.

Advantages of using Cyphlens with Xtrm

Enhanced Security: Mutual authentication ensures that you're interacting with the legitimate Xtrm platform, mitigating phishing risks.
Reliable Access: By reducing dependence on email or SMS for OTP delivery, Cyphlens minimizes delays and potential points of failure.
User-Friendly Experience: The intuitive scanning process simplifies authentication, making secure access straightforward and quick.
